Exporting a scenario from a large model can take a very long time and is not recommended for large models because all content has to be ‘compressed’ into one file. The scenario export was/is not designed for mass data.
The best method is to copy from Oracle to SQL using the domain administrator. This is fast and very efficient.
- To do this, open the domain administrator
- Then select the relevant domain to be copied and click on ‘COPY’. ‘101_IFP’ would now be my ORACLE model to be copied here.
- Then enter the connection details for the SQL database.
- Click OK to start the copy process. There is no faster method than this.
It is very simple; all you need is an SQL database with sufficient hard disk space. SQL requires more memory than Oracle, and you should plan for a buffer of 50-100% of the current size.
